Managing Director, AI Systems & Platforms (Sub-Capability Lead)

Become part of Slalom and lead with curiosity and vision to shape the future of AI in consulting. You'll champion responsible, human‑centered AI—combining strategy, data, and technology to drive measurable impact for our clients.

Who You'll Work With

Partner across markets and capabilities, you'll architect and deliver AI solutions that balance innovation with ethics, scalability with sustainability. You'll translate the promise of generative AI, machine learning, and automation into real‑world outcomes that empower people, enhance customer experiences, and accelerate business transformation. Together we'll help organizations reimagine what's possible and ensure AI serves as a catalyst for meaningful progress. This position reports directly to the Country Lead for the Data & AI Capability and can be based in any Slalom office.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and hire a team of highly experienced AI leaders and drive the continued development and adoption of Slalom's Delivery Excellence program.
  • Partner closely with Market leadership and other Capabilities on AI project execution.

Capability Vision & Strategy (10%)

  • Drive and connect AI strategy across the Americas markets and other Capabilities.
  • Set vision for Slalom's Delivery Excellence program, working closely with Market and other Capability leads to provide guidance and support adoption.

Go to Market Approach (20%)

  • Create demand for yourself and team by proactively seeking speaking opportunities as AI SME and providing thought leadership at external conferences and events.
  • Ignite awareness and generate demand for AI Capability and related client outcomes in North America through campaigns, RFIs, RFPs, workshops, and POCs.

Business Development & Sales (15%)

  • Participate in multi‑capability solutioning and client outcome‑based selling motions with GTM team.
  • Act as a Solution Lead or SME in pursuit processes, identifying appropriate SMEs from the broader capability team as needed.

Resource Pipeline (15%)

  • Participate in AI‑specific rhythm of business for hiring, staffing, workforce planning, and planning for a dedicated AI Capability pool.

People Development (20%)

  • Support development of AI team members to successfully lead Slalom's most complex AI engagements.
  • Act as mentor and guide to other AI practitioners to ensure high quality delivery.
  • Participate in performance management via feedback on AI Capability team members.

Delivery Management (10%)

  • Collaborate closely with market and other capability leaders to implement robust governance practices.
  • Improve outcomes through project turnaround and mitigation strategies to achieve AI delivery success.
  • Contribute to AI delivery via billable roles as AI Solution Lead or SME within the sub‑capability, with defined utilization targets.

Financial Management (10%)

  • Work with broader Data & AI leadership to create AI sub‑capability growth and cost projections.
  • Achieve forecast against revenue, including escalation of dedicated team members for staffing.

Additional

Ability to travel up to 30‑40% of the time. This role requires time in a Slalom office, at client sites, and the ability to work remote; candidates should be comfortable with a hybrid environment, prioritizing client‑facing needs as appropriate.

Compensation And Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position at the Managing Director level the base salary pay range in the US is $240,000 to $384,000 USD. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
