Cat Sitter

  2025-11-12     The Comforted Kitty     Boise,ID
Description:

Professional Cat Sitter – A Purrfectly Flexible Opportunity!

Do you love cats? Are you great at customer service and have a flexible schedule? If so, The Comforted Kitty is hiring a self‑employed Cat Sitter for the Boise‑Nampa metro area. You set your own hours, service area, and when you want to work. Get paid to take care of adorable cats—a dream for anyone who loves whiskers, purrs, and paws!

Perks

  • Competitive pay – earn for doing what you love.
  • Bonuses & Holiday Pay – receive bonus pay for working on holidays, short notice requests, client referrals, and positive feedback. Many clients give generous gratuities that are 100% paid to you.
  • Flexibility – work as much as you'd like. Peak demand occurs during holidays and summer.
  • Community – access a groupchat network of hundreds of self‑employed pet care providers for advice, resources, and support.

A Day in the Life of a Cat Sitter

Cat Sitters visit clients' homes for drop‑in visits (30, 45, or 60 minutes) once or twice daily, or for 10‑hour overnight stays. Before your first visit you meet each client and their cat in person for a meet‑and‑greet, discuss care routines, emergency plans, and contingency instructions. During each visit you:

  • Follow detailed instructions to the tee – feed, refresh water, clean bowls, scoop litter, and administer medications if needed.
  • Spend quality time with each cat, offering love, cuddles, or playtime based on their personality.
  • Complete light housekeeping tasks such as watering plants, collecting mail, and taking out the trash.
  • Send daily updates with charming photos through our pet‑sitting phone app so owners stay informed.

What We're Looking For

Essential traits:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Experience caring for cats (professional experience not required).
  • A smartphone with internet, texting, and camera capabilities.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and provide references.

Desirable extras:

  • Certification in pet first aid/CPR or experience administering oral meds, injections, or fluids.
  • Calm, reliable, and organized personality.
  • Availability during peak times, especially winter holidays.

Why This Job is the Cat's Meow

This is a flexible, self‑employed role (not a W2 employee) perfect for part‑timers, unconventional schedules, or anyone looking for a fulfilling side hustle. We'll match you with clients based on your availability, with reliable scheduling flexibility.
