The Institutional Product Group develops a comprehensive range of products tailored for institutional clients, from hedge funds to experienced individual traders. Our offerings include services such as Coinbase Prime, Advanced Trade, Custody, Web3 Wallet, Commerce, and Exchange. No matter the needs—trading, staking, governance, or API integrations—Coinbase Institutional is here to serve.

Within the Institutional Trading Derivatives team, we focus on facilitating derivatives trading for both retail and institutional clients across the globe. Our responsibilities cover the entire trading platform and include end-to-end workflows like execution, risk management, and settlement & clearing. We are on the verge of launching exciting new product features, and we seek a motivated senior engineer to lead this development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new product support.
• Develop new services, reporting tools, monitoring frameworks, and APIs.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers, product managers, and senior leaders to translate our vision into concrete results every quarter.
• Mentor team members and elevate the overall technical skills within the group.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, with a strong grasp of service-oriented architecture.
• Capability to write high-quality, thoroughly tested code that meets customer needs.
• A genuine passion for constructing an open financial system that connects people.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with high-performance, low-latency engineering.
• Background in trading systems.

Please note the target annual salary for this position is between $186,005 and $218,900 USD, supplemented with bonuses and benefits like medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
