Overview:

Join our team as a Senior Construction Project Manager! In this role, you will have the thrilling responsibility of managing a standalone multi-craft, joint venture, or EPC project valued at over $200 million. You will oversee critical elements of the project including Safety, Quality, and Project Controls, and lead engineering teams, technology providers, and joint venture partners to ensure successful project execution.

Your expertise in industry best practices and codes will be essential as you interface with clients, subcontractors, distributors, vendors, and project management teams to ensure smooth project progression. This is an exciting opportunity to influence all aspects of project management, from labor and materials to client interactions and overall execution.

Location & Travel Details:

This is a travel-based position requiring up to 75% travel across various project sites in the U.S. You will likely spend 8 to 18 months on each project with designated per diem for expenses. The role includes a company vehicle or allowance and a long weekend every four weeks for additional time at home.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee the entire site management team including Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Quality Manager, and Safety Manager.
  • Engage professionally with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors on all project-related issues.
  • Develop and implement a site-specific safety plan while championing corporate safety initiatives.
  • Monitor and review completion status and schedule progress; proactively identify productivity issues and suggest solutions.
  • Support quality assurance by ensuring all inspections and quality documentation are timely completed.
  • Train Superintendents on labor rate monitoring and review all work plans and packages.
  • Review Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and conduct jobsite safety meetings and training.
  • Schedule material deliveries and coordinate job site activities effectively.
  • Ensure proper management of project records and correspondence.
  • Lead budgeting processes and accurately manage cost forecasting for the project.
  • Act as the primary representative in all customer interactions and oversee contract provisions.
  • Provide mentorship to team members and actively participate in team development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Over 11 years of experience in heavy industrial construction, particularly in power generation, mining, and heavy manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a diverse team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adjust to varied work environments.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in diverse weather conditions and on construction sites.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds and performing manual labor tasks.
  • Must comply with safety and fall-protection regulations on site.
  • Ability to see well, hear well, and coordinate physical movements effectively.
