What you will be doing:

Team: The Core Reliability team is a crucial part of the Infrastructure (Platform) organization, dedicated to improving systems reliability and scalability. Our responsibilities include managing significant projects like scalability testing, configuration management, and canary-based release strategies to enhance reliability and minimize customer impact.

Role: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will foster a culture of reliability throughout Coinbase. You'll play a critical role in scaling systems by 10-20x and enhancing service configurations and security by developing world-class configuration management systems. Your focus on customer impact will help mitigate incidents through improved canary-based deployment systems, directly supporting thousands of services and managing hundreds of daily deployments.

What we look for in you:

• You have a minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience.

• You are skilled in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services and understand composing a service-oriented architecture.

• You write high-quality, well-tested code tailored to customer needs.

• You are passionate about creating an open financial system that connects people across the globe.

• You possess strong system design and coding skills.

• You excel in written and verbal communication, valuing transparency in culture.

• You have strong capabilities in observability, debugging, and performance tuning.

• You can clearly explain technical concepts and engage effectively with engineers of varying experience levels.

• You demonstrate critical thinking and composure under pressure.

• You are willing to delve deep into understanding, debugging, and enhancing any aspect of the technology stack.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with fast-paced growth environments.

• Experience with Ruby, Go, and Terraform.

• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud infrastructures.

• Experience designing and building reliable systems.

• Experience in regulated environments.

• Experience producing company-related blog posts and training materials.

• Knowledge of cryptocurrency and onchain activities, including working with Ethereum, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain services.

Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this role ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD. Full-time positions also receive target bonuses, equity, and benefits, which include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
