Overview

The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer is responsible for providing Automation support for various clients and ongoing projects. This role involves the development, testing, and implementation of new Automation rules, programs, and processes. Candidates must have the ability to work in a multi-LPAR client environment and assist team members with technical inquiries and problem resolution. A strong functional knowledge of z/OS Opsmvs or z/SA Automation, along with detailed expertise in REXX programming and Netview, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead self and others; establish as a Product Subject Matter Expert (SME) or specialist.
  • Align projects with the broader Ensono strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership within the Automation team.
  • Configure and support the System State Manager.
  • Oversee Opslog archive processes.
  • Manage and support MSF and understand EPI.
  • Communicate effectively in client meetings and during new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate within the Automation team and with other stakeholders.
  • Review and enhance existing automated processes to meet standards.
  • Mentor team members, boosting their performance.
  • Design automated monitoring techniques for proactive problem identification and prevention.
  • Document problem analysis, resolution, prevention strategies, and best practices.
  • Own and manage complex assignments independently.
  • Understand zSA architecture and define automation policies.
  • Manage message automation processes, especially EMM.
  • Work with zSA commands and handle defined resources/modification goals.
  • Experience with installation and upgrades is required.

What We Look For

To be successful at Ensono, applicants should possess the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of ten years of hands-on experience with z/OS, Opsmvs, and z/SA.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex Automation changes successfully.
  • Experience in leading complex projects.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership qualities.

As of the date of this posting, the estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 to $148,000 annually for full-time work, based on factors such as skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. Additional compensation includes eligibility for annual bonuses based on individual and company performance, as well as equity grants under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
