About the Role

Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

(Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.)

The Accounting Manager, based in Boise, ID, oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for Roundhouse Communities. This role leads both domestic and offshore accounting teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across all financial processes. Partnering with senior leadership, the Accounting Manager provides strategic insights, drives process improvements, and supports scalable growth through strong technical expertise and real estate accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the property accounting team, both domestic and offshore, by fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Define performance expectations and KPIs for accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables, and review metrics regularly with leadership.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to resource, onboard, and retain top accounting talent.
Accounting Operations, Reporting & Compliance
  • Oversee all daily accounting functions for Roundhouse Communities, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and workflows that align with the company's evolving operational structure.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the company and external auditors/CPAs during annual audits and tax filings.
  • Ensure all property and entity-level compliance requirements are met, including state and local reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with property management, asset management, and development teams to ensure financial results accurately reflect operational activity.
  • Support the Controller and CFO with consolidated reporting, forecasting inputs, cash-flow, treasury management, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Systems Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate and optimize accounting systems (Yardi) to improve automation, reporting, and scalability across properties and entities.
  • Lead or co-lead system implementations or integrations related to property or corporate accounting.
  • Identify and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration across accounting and operational teams.
Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of property management or real estate accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Yardi and Excel.
  • Expertise in GAAP, internal controls, and consolidation across multiple entities.
  • Proven track record of managing both onshore and offshore accounting teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a proactive, improvement-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while balancing attention to detail and strategic thinking.
Preferred
  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Multifamily experience strongly preferred
