Office Survey Technician

DEA is currently looking for an Office Survey Technician to be part of our team in our Inland Northwest team. This position can sit in either Spokane, WA, Boise, ID, Coeur d'Alene, ID, or Pocatello, ID. The Office Survey Technician is responsible for performing technical work in survey drafting, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way engineering, and construction surveying services for public and private clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Surveying and Geomatics office support.
  • Responsible for mapping, drafting, data extraction, and topographic surveys.
  • Work closely in an apprenticeship role with Survey Manager, Project Surveyor, and a large network of successful professionals around the Western United States.
  • Perform research, design and calculations for survey and mapping projects using AutoCAD or MicroStation products.
  • Assist with boundary determinations and procedure analysis.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, exhibits and plats. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD C3D, MicroStation (ORD), and Point Cloud extraction.
  • Minimum 2 years of survey field and/or office experience and general engineering plan reading skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering or drafting.
  • LSIT.
