Overview

Reporting to the Team Lead of the Technical Content team, you are a recent graduate with a degree in English or a related field of study or a technical writer with one or more years experience. You are inquisitive, collaborative, and a quick learner. You are an excellent writer who loves language and understands the importance of mapping out content and presenting it simply and clearly. Ideally, you have Atlassian Confluence and markdown experience, but if not, you are eager to pick up these skills. You are creative, organized, and comfortable drafting content in working sessions with subject matter experts (SMEs), including product managers and software developers. You value editing and work with teammates to edit content and incorporate feedback to improve clarity and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Create internal and client-facing documentation that clearly explains how to use Clearwater Analytics products and informs interactive courses.
• Replace and curate existing documentation with improved content; create technical documentation for software developers as needed.
• Maintain internal resources such as the Acronym and Jargon Guide, video library, and style guide.
• Produce client documentation including user guide articles, key product updates (release notes), and embedded application help (such as tool tips).

Qualifications/Experience

• 1+ year of technical writing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fast learner and collaborative team member
• Three Cs: Consistent, Concise, Clear

Tools/Skills

• Confluence experience a plus
• Markdown a plus; Tailwinds an added bonus
• Ability to organize projects; Jira exposure a plus
• Content/graphics/video tools experience (e.g., SnagIt, Canva, Loom, Adobe Creative Cloud) a plus
• Taxonomy/hierarchy and templating knowledge
• UX writing interest
• HTML/CSS a plus
• Familiarity with code structure (preferably Java and/or Python) a plus
• GitLab branching a plus

Salary

NY Salary Range: $55,000–$75,000 base + RSUs
