Responsibilities

  • In close consultation with the Chief Merchandising Officer and the VP Merchandising Strategy & Transformation, develop and drive Albertsons long-range merchandising strategy to achieve top-tier shareholder returns.
  • Build Albertsons go-forward strategy and drive disciplined prioritization, resource allocation, decision making and execution to realize results.
  • Explore new growth opportunities and transform Albertsons' business with pace to deliver consistent, sustainable results.
  • Oversee Merchandising's Annual Strategic Planning process with divisions/functions to ensure alignment and traction.
  • Serve as internal consulting and thought partnership resource for merchandising and divisions on key priorities/projects, and as a pipeline for organizational talent.
  • Lead multiple critical workstreams or initiatives with senior cross-functional leaders on strategy topics, including project planning, structured problem solving, analytics, business case development, cost-benefit evaluation, and implementation planning.
  • Support senior cross-functional partners with thought leadership and analytic insights.
  • Monitor and analyze internal/external landscape (customer, market, vendor, category, financial data) to build strategies and recommend actions.
  • Develop a strong network across the company to build trust, support, and advocacy for the team's work and opportunities.
  • Ensure the team develops the appropriate strategy toolkit and soft skills required.
  • Cultivate and lead a strong, positive team culture.
  • Synthesize findings and develop storyline/materials to communicate recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and influence to drive business decisions and long-term transformation efforts.
  • Mentor junior team members to support planning, hypothesis generation, issue identification, and analytical framework development.

Location

The position will be based in Boise, Idaho, Pleasanton, CA.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Possess The Following

  • Bachelors in analytical discipline (e.g., Business, Engineering, Economics, or Science); MBA preferred
  • 6-8 years total work experience, 2+ years post-MBA in strategy or related roles; top-tier consulting firm and corporate experience (CPG, Retail or EComm/B2C) preferred
  • Demonstrated success working with senior executive leadership and influencing across the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize clearly and simplify complex ideas
  • Strategic/analytical mindset with broad thinking, question refinement, and analytical framework development; courageous and decisive
  • Experience managing, mentoring and developing people
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity, change and pace
  • Authenticity, integrity, humility, curiosity

Salary

The salary range is $102,700 to $143,800 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
