Overview

PCI Field Safety Manager POWER Engineers, Member of WSP

POWER Engineers achieves its health & safety goals by preparing team members through training, procedures, and resources while maintaining accountability for safe work practices. We empower team members at all levels to participate in our health & safety program by encouraging the reporting of accidents, near-miss incidents, perceived non-compliance issues, and ideas to further our program with the primary goal of safety and wellbeing of our team.

Responsibilities

Field Services Division

  • Perform safety evaluations, inspections, and audits of field staff and activities
  • Generate and review Job Hazard Analyses and Tailboard Reports
  • Review client safety policies and procedures to implement and train staff on client-specific requirements
  • Approve, order, review, maintain, and distribute PPE where needed
  • Assist with client safety questionnaires, audits, and surveys
  • Provide general safety oversight, guidance, and ongoing safety training to field staff as needed

Corporate Safety Department

  • Receive and carry out safety directives from corporate safety management
  • Develop, maintain, and update safety policy and procedure
  • Attend regular meetings between corporate and division safety leadership
  • Lead and coordinate accident/incident investigations with corporate safety management
  • Maintain safety certifications
  • Respond to field safety questions, concerns, and directives
  • Submit periodic safety audits, reports, metrics, evaluations, and inspections for corporate safety review

Required Education/Experience
  • Safety Credential (e.g., CSP, CHST, CSHM, CIH, BS, MS, MPH)
  • Safety experience related to transmission/distribution lines, ROW, electrical systems, and construction activities
  • Experience with field environmental hazards and work activities (e.g., vegetation, pests, extreme weather, working alone, near/over water, etc.)
  • Certification in related occupational safety field (e.g., OSHA 500/501, 10/30/10 ET&D)
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
