Mechanical Assembler

Join a dynamic team responsible for assembling custom extendobeds designed for police and fire vehicles. This role involves crafting metal parts in our welding shop, finalizing products, and preparing them for shipment. Your tasks will include drilling, sawing, riveting, and light metal fabrication. You will install decks, drawers, slides, and other accessories into the final product using a variety of hand tools.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble metal parts into final products and crate them for shipment.
  • Install decks, drawers, slides, and other accessories into extendobeds.
  • Perform tasks such as drilling, sawing (metal and wood), and riveting.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, including panel saws, table saws, staple guns, and drills.
  • Engage in light metal fabrication and ensure quality assembly of products.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Strong background in general production and assembly.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly and fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience with carpentry or similar projects.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Good mathematical skills for precise measurements.

Work Environment

Work in a welding and fabrication shop divided into separate bays, where trailers and extendobeds are crafted and assembled. Safety is a priority, requiring composite-toed shoes and safety glasses. The shift is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime, typically totaling 45-50 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, Idaho.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
