Job Summary: The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) plays a critical role as the face of the organization for patients. This position is responsible for safely collecting quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing. As a PSR I, you will create a supportive and trusting environment for patients while demonstrating excellence in patient interaction, process accuracy, and compliance with healthcare confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following clinical and forensic guidelines.
Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and professionalism throughout the visit.
Uphold all safety and cleanliness standards in the phlebotomy and lab areas.
Deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
Support weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime needs as required by the team.
Promote organizational commitment and a positive image to patients, clients, and staff.
Ensure HIPAA compliance and sensitivity to patient confidentiality at all times.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience (REQUIRED)
Phlebotomy certification preferred (REQUIRED in CA, NV, and WA)
Proficient in pediatric and geriatric blood collection
Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service industries preferred
Keyboard/data entry experience required
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
1+ years of professional phlebotomy experience
