Department: Radiation Therapy - General Miscellaneous Info & Examples if Needed
General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLS
Certs/ARRT & other specialty certification requirements ARRT-Radiation Therapy
How many scanners/rooms does this department have? Linear Accelerators: 2 Boise, 2 Meridian, 1 Nampa, 1 Fruitland, 2 Twin Falls
CT Simulators: 1 each Twin Falls, Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Fruitland
Will they have to float/cover any other areas? Possibly. Radiation therapy staff could go to any Treasure Valley facility-Boise, Meridian, Fruitland or Nampa sites if there was a need (no float pool)
If hired for Twin Falls, they will stay there
Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties 3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRT/SRS. CT simulation on a rare occasion
Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have Varian True Beam Experience for Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Fruitland)
Must have 2-3 years of Radiation Therapy experience at a minimum
Must be proficient with ARIA (EMR to record and verify) and
Prefer Epic experience
Prefer Triology experience

Must have True Beam & Triology for Twin Falls
Average # of scans/studies per day 20-40/day depending on site
will always have at least 2 treating therapists
EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use ARIA and EPIC
Department Specific Equipment (Client, Phillips, Siemens) Varian, Siemens, Toshiba All machines and set up the same from site to site
Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech Each shift has a supervisor or lead- manager also avaialble via Teams or text; Lead/Supervisor don't typically perform treatments but can if needed
Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)? NA
Radiologist in-house? Treasure Valley has Radiation Oncologists x 5 Midlevels x 2
Twin Falls has 2 Providers
Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department) Prefer IV experience, but not a must have.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) M-F with Variable starts time between 0600-0900, M-F, Travelers asked to be flexible to be flexible and fill gaps in perm staffing
Treatment hours are typically 0800-1630

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided? Clean, neat scrubs of any color or appropriate pattern or business casual
Department specific orientation Yes, usually 1 shift per site depending on floating expectation
