The Senior Reimbursement Analyst is a strategic contributor to the organization's financial health, responsible for leading complex analyses related to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, net revenue, and cost reporting. This role requires deep expertise in federal and state regulations, strong financial and analytical skills, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable insights. The Senior Analyst collaborates across departments to support audit readiness, budgeting, and financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, including supporting documentation and audit defense materials.
  • Conduct advanced financial, cost-benefit, and reimbursement analyses
  • Translate complex federal and state reimbursement regulations into practical applications for reporting and compliance and is the subject matter expert
  • Analyze rate and spending trends
  • Prepare supplemental reporting for federal and state agencies, including Contract Labor, Wage Reporting, Bad Debt, and space utilization.
  • Coordinate audit responses, including appeals and reopening opportunities, and translate audit results into financial impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with accounting and operations to ensure accurate expense categorization and cost allocation.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting net revenues and third-party reimbursement.
  • Document all work thoroughly for consistency, reproducibility, and audit readiness.
  • Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, with a strong focus on Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting and audits.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiar with business intelligence tools.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes in healthcare environments.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and technical accounting skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state reimbursement regulations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Occasional travel may be required.


Salary Description

$90,000-$100,000 DOE
