Description:

Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract job with a client in Boise, ID . Responsibilities include automating system provisioning and configuration using Puppet and ensuring high availability and performance of Linux-based environments.

Rate Range: $35/hour to $37/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

System Administrator job responsibilities include:

  • Provide advanced support for Linux systems, ensuring high availability and performance for engineering design teams.
  • Automate system provisioning and configuration using tools like Puppet and scripting languages such as Shell and Python.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of Unix/Linux environments, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Manage system builds and virtualization (e.g., VMware), including both physical and virtual server provisioning.
  • Implement system enhancements and maintain documentation to improve reliability, performance, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, offering technical guidance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Strong expertise in RHEL 8/9, scripting (Shell, Python), and configuration management tools like Puppet.
  • Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware), LDAP management, and supporting servers in cloud environments.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $37.00 per hour
