IMMEDIATE HIRING! Fire Chief FULL-TIME Opportunity

$115,000.00 annual salary

Rural/Metro Fire Department Fire is excited to announce a new operation in Elmore County, ID. The Mayfield Springs Fire Department will be a full-service, all-risk fire department located 12 minutes from Boise, ID. We are seeking a dynamic leader involved in all aspects of starting this operation and becoming an integral part of the Mayfield Springs community ( and Rural Metro's nationwide fire operations family. The ideal candidate is an experienced, well-rounded fire service professional who is enthusiastic about training, personnel development, and organizational growth. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong incident command knowledge, conflict resolution, and professionalism are essential. We prefer an approachable, friendly candidate who delegates tasks, is hands-on, and actively involved when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Any combination of fire service experience equivalent to: a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or a related field and 10 years in the fire service, with a recognized track of advancement, including at least 5 years at the company officer level.
  2. High school diploma or GED, with successful completion of background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
  3. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (Class B highly desirable).
  4. NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials-Operations certification (State, PROBOARD, or IFSAC).
  5. NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications.
  6. National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (highly desirable).
  7. Current CPR/AED certification.
  8. NFPA 1001 Firefighter I and II certifications (State, ProBoard, IFSAC or equivalent).
  9. Fire Inspector I and II certifications (State, ProBoard, IFSAC or equivalent) (Highly Desirable).
  10. Fire Marshal/Fire Prevention Officer experience (Highly Desirable).
  11. Designated Chief Fire Officer or successful completion of Executive Fire Officer (NFA) (Highly Desirable).
  12. NFPA 1021 Fire Officer I Certification (State, ProBoard, IFSAC or equivalent) (Highly Desirable).
