In the role of Idaho-Montana Area Safety Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Demonstrate journeyman field proficiency in understanding HDR's established corporate safety program/procedures and implementing those elements as applicable on the areas' diverse project portfolio and business lines.
  • Support HDR's Marketing teams in reviewing pursuits to identify, plan for, and mitigate SH&E related risk.
  • Support and assist company's Project/Construction Managers in SH&E requirements across all business lines.
  • Show proficiency in SH&E auditing and inspection protocols in field and office settings.
  • Be proficient in SH&E training and facilitate training as required, including topics like Permit Required Confined Spaces, Control of Hazardous Energy, Job Hazard Analysis, CPR-AED & First Aid.
  • Display working knowledge of SH&E regulatory codes, including federal and state regulations.
  • Lead the local safety committee in assigned areas.
  • Participate as a member of the leadership team in supporting implementation and culture initiatives.
  • Understand all SH&E processes and procedures to support SH&E requirements within office and field environments.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous SH&E work experience in construction, mining/tunneling, water infrastructure, DOT, Oil and Gas, and/or A&E firm.
  • OSHA-10 hr. Construction Outreach Trainer Certification.
  • Local candidate preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of technical experience or educational equivalent (minimum of an associate degree) in occupational health/safety related field.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of OSHA & ANSI regulatory standards.
  • Ability to instruct and facilitate Safety, Health, and Environmental training courses.
  • Team-oriented with exceptional written and oral skills supporting company SH&E requirements.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
