Title: Senior/Director of Aircraft Services

Location: Boise, ID (or open to relocation)

Type: Full-Time | Exempt

Department: Aircraft Services

Reports to: COO

Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to oversee aircraft certification and repair station functions. This role is responsible for guiding cross-functional teams, managing regulatory compliance, optimizing operational efficiency, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical leadership, regulatory expertise, and a passion for advancing aviation services.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Represent the Aircraft Services department in leadership meetings and company planning.
  • Build, lead, and retain a high-performing team aligned with mission-driven goals.
  • Manage budgets and resources to align with strategic company goals.
  • Drive department-level and companywide process improvement initiatives.

Certification & Compliance

  • Develop and execute certification strategies including Project-Specific Certification Plans (PSCP).
  • Act as liaison with FAA and other aviation authorities.
  • Lead preparation and submission of compliance documentation and testing reports.
  • Maintain oversight of certification applications, airworthiness approvals, and regulatory submissions.

Team & Operational Management

  • Collaborate with engineering and systems teams to ensure certification requirements are built into program plans.
  • Ensure proper training and skill development for all team members.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and lean improvements within operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years in aviation, aircraft maintenance, or modification.
  • Experience in a leadership role within civil aviation.
  • Strong project management and technical writing experience.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and certification pathways.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience navigating FAA or federal regulatory processes.
  • Aerospace manufacturing, certification, or STC-related work.
  • Exposure to DER pathways or working closely with Designated Engineering Representatives.
