Base pay range

$19.00/hr - $19.25/hr

Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer ensures proper operation of engineering and maintenance within the hotel, including general property maintenance. They keep equipment in good repair, support day-to-day hotel maintenance, and work to improve engineering services to guests and staff.

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine and preventive maintenance in hotel rooms and public areas.
2. Respond promptly to maintenance calls from guests or departments.
3. Address guest requests courteously and efficiently.
4. Prioritize maintenance issues, such as plant and machinery breakdowns.
5. Perform maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems.
6. Program TVs and manage inventory related to engineering.
7. Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems, handling emergencies as needed.
8. Operate and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and water systems.
9. Communicate with departments and assist as needed.
10. Update maintenance requests and logs in the PMS system.
11. Execute preventative maintenance schedules.
12. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
13. Train staff and share knowledge.
14. Follow safety protocols for chemical use and PPE.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Ability to walk or stand for long periods in a hotel environment.
2. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
4. Ability to work independently within deadlines.

Qualifications

1. Experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and repairs.
2. 2-5 years experience in hotels, multi-unit residential, or commercial settings.
