Corporate Controls Engineer

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Controls Engineer to join our Boise corporate team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, improving, maintaining, and overseeing the control systems at three Amalgamated facilities to ensure efficient and reliable operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with both Emersons DeltaV Automation and Rockwells Allen Bradley platforms. This position will report to the Director of Engineering.

Additional Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement control systems to ensure machinery and processes operate efficiently and safely.
- Optimize and continuously improve automation processes by creating control logic that adheres to common standards, ensuring compatibility and interoperability between different systems and devices.
- Oversee and design control logic that can be easily adapted or modified to work with various platforms, such as different types of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with other operational systems.
- Develop and maintain control systems standards, including standard program logic, alarm rationalization methods, schematics, process flow diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Frequent travel to our facilities in Nampa, Twin Falls, and Mini-Cassia to work with the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer and their team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in controls.
- Proven experience with Emersons DeltaV Automation and Rockwells Allen Bradley platforms.
- Strong understanding of information technology (IT), operation technology (OT), and cyber security.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the sugar industry and/or related industry.
- Experience with manufacturing controls in a heavy chemical type of processing industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of other automation platforms and control systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
