Description:

HIRING NOW!! Finance Manager - Boise State University - Boise, ID with Compass-USA

We are seeking a sharp, data-driven Finance Manager to support operational strategy through deep financial analysis and business insight at Boise State University.

As the Finance Manager for Bosie State University, you will work closely with the controller to ensure that all data is captured, analyzed, and presented to the team with suggested improvements and celebrate success along the way

The Finance Manager will provide critical support in responding to client requests, evaluating operational changes, and generating insights that drive business decisions.

If you like to crunch numbers, can interpret data, and can clearly explain the information to the leadership team, then this role is for YOU.

This is not an accounting role — it's about connecting data to action.

  • Salary - $70,000- $75,000...*based on skill, experience, and work history
  • This is a full-time position on location - NOT remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct deep financial and operational data dives to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights — for example, analyzing the financial impact of location closures or service changes on campus.
  • Build and maintain advanced spreadsheets and data models to track performance metrics and forecast operational outcomes.
  • Translate findings into clear, compelling narratives and present key insights to the Controller for client-facing reporting and decision-making.
  • Partner with the Controller to fulfill client analytics requests, ensuring the data provided is accurate, timely, and strategically useful.
  • Support ongoing financial and business planning through monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Continuously refine and optimize internal reporting processes for efficiency and clarity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, financial planning, or data analytics role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, models); familiarity with data visualization or BI tools is a plus.
  • Excellent math skills and analytical reasoning abilities.
  • Strong communication skills — must be able to explain complex findings clearly to stakeholders who may not have a financial background.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
