Position Summary:

The Senior Process Engineer plays a critical role in the development, optimization, and support of advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. This position focuses on driving innovative process solutions within customer fabrication facilities, contributing to equipment performance enhancements, and delivering high-quality technical support to both internal teams and external clients. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, and Customer Support to ensure successful process integration and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development & Characterization
  • Lead the development, refinement, and implementation of advanced semiconductor processes on state-of-the-art equipment within customer fabrication environments.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze process optimization experiments to determine key parameters and establish robust process windows.
  • Generate detailed documentation and technical reports based on experimental results and performance data.
  • Equipment Support & Maintenance
  • Perform routine and minor maintenance activities on process equipment as necessary to ensure uptime and performance stability.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process and equipment issues, providing effective solutions in coordination with engineering and technical support teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Interface with Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments to support process enhancements and implement design modifications that improve system performance and facilitate customer adoption.
  • Contribute technical expertise in meetings and planning sessions regarding process-related design changes, application development, and product roadmaps.
  • Customer Support & Field Applications
  • Provide advanced applications support to domestic and international customers, including onsite process startups, troubleshooting, and technology demonstrations.
  • Serve as a technical liaison during customer interactions and product demonstrations, ensuring accurate communication of process capabilities and value propositions.
  • Design and execute experimental demonstrations tailored to specific customer requirements and provide technical documentation and presentations as needed.
  • Factory & Integration Support
  • Collaborate with factory engineers and product managers to address and resolve process and equipment-related issues.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve design-for-manufacturability and ease-of-use for new product introductions.
  • Participate in cross-site or cross-functional integration efforts to align best practices and maintain process consistency across various platforms and customer sites.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in process engineering within the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven ability to execute structured experimentation, analyze data, and communicate results effectively.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device fabrication processes and associated process equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to support customer sites and process tool installations.
  • Adaptable and open-minded with a collaborative spirit, capable of thriving in a multinational and multicultural team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in a technical environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a cleanroom or semiconductor fab environment.
  • Prior involvement in customer-facing engineering roles.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and process simulation tools.
  • Japanese or other language skills a plus for international communication (if applicable based on customer base).
