About our Vice President of Marketing and Communication position
Under the general supervision and direction of the CEAO / CEO, develops and implements a strategic marketing and communications plan to promote and build awareness of PPGNHAIK's health care, advocacy, and educational services, as well as PPAA's political work in the communities we serve.
What will you be doing!
Marketing and Communications Strategy Leadership
- Creating the overall marketing and communications strategy for attracting and retaining patients, working with clinical services leadership and strategy and business innovations officer.
- Managing staff and vendors in the development and implementation of marketing and communications plans, which include writing, editing, and producing content for a variety of media as well as overseeing brand identity across the affiliate.
- Determining needs/opportunities for patient recruitment in all markets within the affiliate service area.
- Developing and implementing an annual marketing plan focused on patient acquisition, brand building, and community visibility and trust.
- Assuring marketing plans align with leverages communications plans, and vice versa.
- Leading communications teams in strategies to ensure media relations, digital communications, and patient-oriented communication channels are driving one narrative and messaging strategy.
- Utilizing data, analytics, research, best practices, and results-driven strategies to support and inform marketing efforts; monitor and quickly and nimbly correct to assure success.
- Planning and working with patient services and other leaders to design and implement localized marketing efforts for each center or service including one-on-one contact with potential referral sources, health promotions, and incentive campaigns.
- Developing marketing materials, including digital, to support patient acquisition, ensuring message and image consistency with other agency outreach efforts.
- Developing and implementing tracking systems to monitor results of patient acquisition efforts and share this with executive team and affiliate leaders on a regular monthly basis.
- Developing the necessary infrastructure for rapid deployment of messaging and tactics to advance patient acquisition goals based on real-time developments in the marketplace and region.
- Developing and launching internal structures to effectively manage the marketing and communications process, from initial request to outcome, ensuring streamlined workflows and clear accountability throughout each project.
- Assisting with brand recovery when necessary.
- Budgeting management to maximize marketing resources and impact.
Communications and Brand Management: - Creating a unified and strategic communication plan to advance the goals, brand, profile, and mission of PPGNHAIK and PPAA.
- Overseeing and managing the director and staff in the development of internal and external communications, media, and strategies that foster positive public perception of Planned Parenthood and enhance our brand identity and reputation.
- Assuring communications strategies are data driven to target targeting key stakeholders and constituencies.
- Maintaining a consistent brand and leverage PPGNHAIK and PPAA together while assuring compliance and separation between 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 communications.
- Maintaining contact with PP Federation of America and PP Action Fund to assure message consistency and to stay up to date on national issues and messaging arcs.
- Driving communications to elevate the visibility of the full breadth of our services contributes to continuing positive interest in reproductive health services and specifically in this affiliate.
- Assuring communications include the entire service region, including virtual health centers and parts of our states in which we do not currently have health centers or other programs.
- Assuring communications include the full scope of our services and mission, supporting goals for patient acquisition, fundraising, marketing, advocacy and more.
- Actively and constantly evolve our strategies to represent and speak to the rich diversity of our communities.
- Collaborating with PPAA State Directors and Communications Managers on developing and implementing state-specific advocacy and legislative communication plans.
- Assuring communications implementation best in class, proven web and digital strategies that advance our communications strategies with key stakeholders and constituencies.
- Institutionalize effective relationships with local and national media across varying platforms, connecting media with PPGNHAIK and PPAA beyond individual staff relationships.
- Overseeing the necessary infrastructure for rapid deployment of messaging and tactics to advance targeted communications goals based on real-time developments in the press, the legislature, the courts, or the political cycle.
- Managing and leading any crisis communication plans in collaboration with senior organizational leaders if such a need arises.
- Working closely with the CEOs of the C3 and the C4, the Chief Strategy and Business Innovations Officer, and other executive team members to develop internal processes that ensure a culture of open communication and collaboration in creating and executing upon developed strategies.
- Seeking new and innovative ways to extend the reach of the organization to diverse communities.
- Providing leadership and partnership, as required, for external collaboration and partnerships, including identifying and establishing relationships with third-party validators.
- Supporting and informing other departments' continuing efforts to enhance relationships with providers, vendors, etc.
- Working in close partnership and collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and the Vice President of Policy and Strategies to ensure alignment and synergy between departments.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises the Director of Marketing and the Communications team, as well as external vendors.
Minimum qualifications: Minimum of seven years' experience in marketing, communications, or a related field at a level that includes responsibility for strategic planning and development-with proven results.
A minimum of five years management experience.
Experience in sexual and reproductive health a plus.
Experience with 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 nonprofit organizations preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish desired.
BA/BS in related field required.
Salary Range:$117,769 - $257,311The maximum starting salary for this position is $185,000 and applies only to candidates residing in Washington State, in alignment with local cost of labor standards. For candidates residing in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, and Kentucky, the salary range will be adjusted based on regional cost of labor date and may be lower than the Washington State maximum. We are committed to equity in compensation and use location-specific benchmarks to ensure fairness across all hiring regions.
