In the role of Environmental Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures for environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation
- Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
- Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position
- Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5 years in environmental engineering design (e.g., remediation systems, industrial wastewater, well design, pumps, pipes, ponds).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS.
- Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects and teams.
- Experience with CERCLA remediation, permitting, and regulatory compliance, especially for agricultural clients.
- Skilled in field investigation and drilling program management, particularly in geologic and hydrogeologic settings.
Project & Team Leadership
- Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, including technical oversight and quality control.
- Coordinate and schedule field teams, especially within the Idaho Resources team.
- Manage site investigations and remediation projects for state, federal, and private clients.
- Oversee field data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Communication & Documentation
- Prepare reports and proposals, including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
- Comfortable with client interaction and presentations (in-person and virtual).
- Collaborate with clients and regulators to develop strategies and recommendations.
Certifications & Preferences
- 40-hour HAZWOPER and MSHA 40-hour Underground Miner training preferred.
- Local candidates are preferred.
- A seller-doer mindset (business development + technical delivery) is a strong asset.
