Space Force MUOS Engineering Risk Manager

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of DefenseSECRET security clearance ispreferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join our Space Force Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) program team. The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with the MUOS program to ensure successful project execution and delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, project management, and communication.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop opportunities as well as risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Monitor and report on risk status and progress to senior management and stakeholders
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews, updating risk registers and documentation as needed
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on risk management best practices and tools
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate risk workshops and meetings to promote a proactive risk & opportunity management culture within the program

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in risk management tools and software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

What sets you apart:

  • Experience with ROMPro is a plus
  • PMP, RMP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong ability to lead, mentor, and motivate experienced technical staff
  • High level of proficiency in risk management
  • Experience with government contracts and defense industry standards
  • Knowledge of the MUOS program and its objectives

This position is 3 days on site with 2 days working from home. If preferred, you can also work 100% on site

Target salary range: USD $115,674.00/Yr. - USD $128,325.00/Yr.This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
