CLINICAL LAB TECH
Boise Regional Medical Center
Provides services of both a technical and non-technical nature in the laboratory service areas. Performs Moderate and High complexity laboratory tests in any assigned department of the clinical laboratory to provide physicians with rapid and accurate laboratory test results. This position is qualified to perform duties of quality control reviews, quality assurance activities and direct observation of competency assessments.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Health Related Science field required
HOURS: You will enjoy three days off a week! This position is four 10-hour days, M., T., Th. and Fr.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Performs waived, moderate, and highly complex analytic processes without direct supervision. Uses laboratory procedures and techniques for which he/she is qualified, trained, and demonstrates competency according to established lab standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Operates, calibrates, and performs minor troubleshooting on laboratory instruments and ensures proper functioning of laboratory equipment. Performs quality control procedures as specified in lab section SOPs and maintains QC records and documentation necessary to meet the standards of accrediting agencies.
Meets output measures as defined by individual group policy. Assists with workload in any section where competency has been verified and is current. Recognizes critical patient results and follows the defined process for reporting them. Recognizes abnormal, unexpected or implausible results, errors, and problems with patient tests.
Maintains adequate inventory of reagents and supplies. Reviews laboratory procedures and suggests improvements and efficiencies. Collaborates with and directs.
