Job Description

The Managing Director of Transmission Joint Ventures Governance and Operations will lead the strategic oversight, governance, and operational performance of the company's portfolio of transmission joint ventures (JVs). This senior leader will ensure alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across all JV entities. The role requires a seasoned executive with deep experience in transmission operations, joint venture governance, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional leadership.

What You'll Do:

Governance & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary governance liaison between the company and its joint venture partners, boards, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead development and execution of JV governance frameworks, including board reporting, compliance, and operating protocols.
  • Shape and align long-term JV strategy with the company's transmission growth objectives and regulatory commitments.
  • Negotiate and manage joint venture agreements, operational protocols, and commercial terms in collaboration with Legal and Finance.

Operations Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of JV operational performance, including reliability, asset management, compliance, and system planning.
  • Drive performance metrics, benchmarking, and continuous improvement across JV operations.
  • Coordinate with internal transmission, engineering, and operations teams to ensure JV alignment and support.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead engagement with state and federal regulatory agencies related to JV governance, planning, and operations.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, RTO/ISO working groups, and stakeholder processes related to JV activities.
  • Monitor and assess regulatory and policy developments impacting JV operations or future opportunities.

Leadership & Management

  • Manage a team of directors and professionals supporting JV governance, compliance, operations, and planning.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to drive collaborative execution and innovation.
  • Ensure risk management and internal controls are robust across all JV entities.

What We're Looking For:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, public relations, communications or other related disciplines.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in transmission operations, joint venture governance, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional leadership or direct related experience in the industry. Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of the industry and the ability to represent the company in forums, RTO/ISO working groups, and other relevant entities.
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex policy issues.
  • Expertise in public policy research and legislative tracking.
  • Political acumen and awareness of current events.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

$183,033.00-237,941.50 USD
