Senior Environmental Engineer Job Description

The Senior Environmental Engineer conducts studies, analyzes, and synthesizes data to assess the potential environmental impacts of mine development and operation.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collecting and analyzing environmental data, preparing reports, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
2. Administering water quality and monitoring programs.
3. Coordinating reports such as TRI, Biennial EPA Hazardous Waste Report, and Annual State Hazardous Waste Report.
4. Developing and reporting on Bio assessments, WET Tests, and Ambient Water Quality Reports.
5. Writing and updating technical documents including SPCC Plans, SWPPP, BMP Plans, Reclamation Plans, SOPs, and Sampling and QA/QC Plans.
6. Calculating reclamation plan bonding requirements for mine closure.
7. Participating in hazardous material/waste minimization, handling, and disposal programs.
8. Assisting with spill prevention and response programs.
9. Maintaining technical documents such as SPCC and SWPPP plans.
10. Managing databases related to environmental data.
11. Conducting regulatory inspections, risk mitigation, and internal audits to ensure environmental and safety standards are met.
12. Providing guidance to Environmental Engineers and Technicians and collaborating with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws.
