GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Senior Security Engineer/Architect will serve as subject matter expert and have the responsibility for ensuring that proposed system security designs follow Bodybuilding.com security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ TASK

1. Propose security guidelines, policies and practices for Bodybuilding.com's internal and customer facing infrastructure.
2. Review and evaluate aspects of IT security, operational security, systems security, and software security.
3. Perform reviews of approved security architectures, systems and environments to confirm compliance with information security policies, standards and processes.
4. Provide security design consulting to company lines of business.
5. Maintain expert proficiency in emerging trends in information security.
6. Follow-up on implementation of corrective actions from engineering design reviews, assessments and incidents, and provide direct guidance for security remediation activities.
7. Communicate effectively about technical security issues and translate into terms that are understood by business stakeholders.
8. Assist as needed in responding to security incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 10 years of experience in an information security role supporting security programs and security engineering in complex environments. Hands-on experience with enterprise security architecture, engineering and implementation.
2. Strong knowledge of Cloud architecture and security principles.
3. Expert-level knowledge of web technologies, database, OS, firewalls, network communication protocols and methods.
4. Expert-level knowledge in Linux system administration.
5. Knowledge of database security principles.
6. Strong knowledge of encryption technologies and architectures.
7. Experience with logging and log analysis.
8. Experience with identity management principles and technology.
9. Experience with security tools, including vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and web application firewalls.
10. BA or BS degree in CS, Information Systems or 10 years relevant experience.

Skills and ability: Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented, highly proactive, able to work with a minimum of direct supervision, and strong communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
