JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

  1. Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  2. Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  3. Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  4. Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  5. Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  6. Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection process.
  7. Assists in developing sequencing requirements and providing solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  8. Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  9. Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
  10. Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  11. Supports the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists and testing procedures.
  12. Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

  1. Completing increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  2. Developing budgetary estimates and reviewing options with value engineering suggestions.
  3. Coordinating scopes of work during bid process and developing sequencing requirements.
  4. Reviewing design documents and developing quality control programs.
  5. Performing job inspections and developing pre-functional checklists.
  6. Reviewing and approving shop drawings and generating commissioning plans.
  7. Verifying deficiencies are corrected and submitting documentation.
  8. Mentoring less experienced colleagues and creating innovative solutions for process improvement.
  9. Supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop proficiency in JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
  • Knowledge of construction management means and methods.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships internally and externally.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered.

Experience

  • 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).

Working Environment

  • Valid driver's license required.
