Role Overview

We operate with a distributed team of over 1200 colleagues in 75+ countries, with few office-based roles. Teams meet in person 2-4 times annually at locations worldwide to align on strategy and execution.

The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing. We are hiring a Sales Director, ISV Embedded Solutions in various locations to drive partnerships and embed Ubuntu and Ubuntu Pro into software and SaaS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive embedded support and licensing sales with ISVs to exceed quarterly and annual targets.
  • Lead customer and partner relationships throughout the sales and support lifecycle.
  • Deepen understanding and engagement with the open source ecosystem.
  • Develop partnerships supporting Canonical's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with product teams to enhance platforms for ISVs.
  • Negotiate contracts with ISV partners and customers.
  • Shape content and messaging for ISV partners and customers.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong academic background from high school and university.
  • Degree in a technical field or a compelling alternative narrative.
  • Ability to establish strategic relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Passion for technology with experience in software, SaaS, Linux (Debian or Ubuntu), open source, cloud, and containers.
  • Experience in lead generation and business development in software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of exceeding commitments and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks.
