The Senior Field Engineer (Civil, Structure, Architecture) is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and overseeing the preparation of conceptual and detailed estimates for various complex projects. Will direct the quantitative development of material, labor, and subcontract take-offs, as well as the coordination of information among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and project teams.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Develops the estimate plan and coordinates estimate development with the project team
  • Prepares Work Package Estimate breakdowns in conjunction with the project team
  • Leads the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual
  • Prepares the total Project Basis of Estimate
  • Prepares the Estimate Risk Analysis and makes cost contingency recommendations
  • Analyzes and makes independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
  • Supports preparation and Presentation of Project Estimates to Executive and Client management Teams
  • Supports vendor and subcontractor solicitation, pre-qualification and coordination of pricing
  • Reviews subcontractor and vendor bid packages
  • Other duties as assigned
Show your expertise
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry
  • 5+ years of competitive bid experience preferred
  • Experience in estimating
  • Experience on Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning (EPCC) projects is required
  • Experience in Commercial building, Clean Room and Tool Install construction desired
  • Experience with the following software applications preferred: Trimble GCEstimator (WinEst, Modelogix, Vico) and Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc)
  • BIM estimating experience desired
  • Ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information
  • Understands the fundamental concepts of engineering drawings
  • Ability to effectively perform material take offs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and coordination skills
  • Ability to travel to support both project and corporate needs
