The Maintenance Director oversees the maintenance and improvements of the YMCA facilities and assigned vehicles.

Job Location: 3720 S. Indiana Avenue, Caldwell, ID 83605

Responsibilities:

1. Provides overall coordination of facility, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
2. Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, and coaching, scheduling and on-going development.
3. Recruits and manages volunteers as needed per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines.
4. Ensures that assigned vehicles and other equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
5. Anticipates risk, implications and possible outcomes before taking action.
6. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner; Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds; Follow procedures for bids and recommendation of selection of contractors.
7. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building departments, etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
8. Prepares budgets and interprets financial related statements and forecasts to support the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures.

Qualifications:

1. 5 years of previous experience in maintenance field required (facility management preferred).
2. 2-4 years of previous experience as a commercial pool operator (preferred).
3. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.
4. Able to work varied hours outside normal schedule to include late nights, weekends due to projects, maintenance issues, and rotation of on-call calendar.
5. Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members.
6. Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use.
8. Prior experience of successful supervisor of staff and volunteer preferred.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position at 40 hours weekly. Schedule requirement is Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm.
