Senior Principal Field Network Specialist

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Industry certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities for this Position

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Installs and repairs equipment; instructs customers in equipment operation; provides technical assistance; checks equipment for malfunctions. Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solutions. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to the customer's organization.

  • Plans, directs, and monitors activities performed on one or more field service projects.
  • Provides technical leadership for field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing, and servicing of multiple fielded systems/products at customer sites.
  • Provides technical leadership for diagnoses and repair of mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using established procedures.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert working with the tactical customer to accomplish initial complex installation, configuration, and reconfiguration of all equipment as the communications environment evolves.
  • Develops and/or reviews test plans and procedures in accordance with contract requirements for the verification of deliverable systems.
  • Works with customer leadership on the planning and implementation of system customization to meet specific mission requirements.
  • Identifies, assesses, and develops plans to attain new and ongoing business opportunities.
  • Develops and presents cost and technical proposals to management and customer personnel.
  • Reviews and controls usage of project funds.
  • Represents the company at program and customer reviews.
  • Actively participates in the business development process.
  • Internal: Other Functional Technical Teams, Technical Staff, Executive Management.
  • External: Customers, Military Personnel, Government Dignitaries, External Consultants/Experts.
  • Manages functional area through department managers.
  • Recognized internally and externally as an expert in their field.
  • Travel may be required to worldwide non-field locations.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives. Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Advanced knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment.

  • Excellent understanding of technologies associated with supported systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a system technical advisor to all levels of customer leadership.

  • Highly skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions, both written and oral.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to gain customer intimacy and determine the customer's value proposition.
  • Knowledge of DoD Unit Set Fielding requirements.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate experienced technical staff.
  • Ability to bridge communication across multi-functional teams.
  • Effectively communicate with managers and teammates.
  • Skilled at executing complex projects.

Target salary range: USD $156,633.60/Yr. - USD $169,482.45/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
