Principal Hardware Architect, Board-Level System Design

Micron Module design hardware group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Architect with expertise in board-level System design to join our module development group! In this role, you will be essential in crafting and developing ground breaking electronic products and systems for CXL and DIMM modules! Your primary responsibility will be to own the BLD process, ensuring the successful integration of hardware components and subsystems.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the board-level design process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and design specifications for complex electronic systems.
  • Develop schematics and coordinate PCB layout, including component placement and routing, while ensuring compliance with design standards.
  • Perform hardware design analysis (e.g., signal integrity, power integrity, thermal analysis) to optimize system performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, trade-off analysis, and collaborate with suppliers to select components that meet performance and cost goals.
  • Lead design reviews and resolve technical challenges in collaboration with multi-functional teams, driving projects forward.
  • Stay updated on advancements in hardware design and manufacturing technologies, leveraging them to foster innovation and improve performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers, encouraging a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) experience or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 10+ Years of validated experience as a Hardware Architect or a similar role, with a focus on board-level design.
  • Strong proficiency in schematic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD) and PCB layout tools (e.g., Allegro, PADS).
  • In-depth knowledge of board-level design principles, including high-speed digital design, analog design, and mixed-signal design.
  • 5+ years of successful product development projects and the ability to deliver high-quality designs within schedule and budget constraints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience with signal integrity analysis tools (e.g., Hyperlynx, CST Studio Suite) and simulation software (e.g., SPICE).
  • 5+ years with industry standards and regulations, such as IPC standards, EMC/EMI compliance, and safety certifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to solve complex hardware issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA-based designs is a plus.
