Developmental Specialist (DS) work with people who are cognitively, behaviorally and/or physically disabled developing plans for services tailored to the interests, strengths, and needs of the individual. What the role entails: This is a professional level position working closely with people with disabilities and other support providers developing plans for programs designed to help individuals with disabilities realize their potential, enhance the quality of their lives and reach their personal goals. The (DS) also implements instructional activities and provides support to individuals in the program with the goal of maximizing their capacity for personal growth and community membership consistent with each individual's support plan. All duties and responsibilities are performed in a manner consistent with person-centered practices, and Positive Behavior Supports. Essential duties: Develop individualized plans to address the identified needs of each client. This plan may include goals, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring procedures. Coordinate daily activities that align with support goals, in the center and/or community settings. Ensure program development, implementation and monitoring occurs on an on-going basis for each participant in compliance with legal, accreditation, licensing, and regulatory entities. Communicate and coordinate with other providers to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided. Ensure quality service is being provided throughout the program by planning, directing and supervising the daily activities of the programs. Monitor progress towards goals, collect data on all services provided. Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with team members. Oversee the management of programmatic environments, which include recruiting, training, and supervision of support staff. Provide assistance in program environments as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field ( Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Speech and Language Pathology, Psychology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Therapeutic Recreation ) or Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an area not listed AND HAVE Completed a competency course approved by the Department of Health and Welfare and the Idaho Association of Developmental Disabilities Agencies. + Experience in the development of person-centered plan and programs + Proficient in MS Office applications + Valid driver's license/ vehicle insurance and a clean driving record In addition to rewarding work, Witco employees enjoy competitive compensation, 100% company paid benefits for Full-Time eligible staff and a generous paid time off accrual.
