There are 17 vacancies for this position. Each incumbinent will be split as a .5 FTE between two elementary schools. The first review of applications will be on April 9, 2025.

The Elementary Dean of Student Achievement is dedicated to the educational development of each student, ensuring they reach their full intellectual, emotional, social, and psychological potential.

Purpose
To serve as an instructional and behavioral leader dedicated to the educational development of each elementary student at an assigned school location; develop and support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework to ensure student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support needed for success; work closely with teachers, students, and families to promote positive learning environment; enforce district and school policies; perform complex building administrative duties and provide professional assistance to the elementary principal; performs related work as required.

Supervision Received and Exercised
The primary function of an employee in this class is to supervise elementary school staff and perform a variety of technical and advanced building administrator duties.

Receives general supervision from assigned Elementary Principal(s); and may receive technical and functional direction from the District leadership. The primary duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of MTSS to ensure students receive tiered academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Analyze student performance data to guide instructional decisions and intervention strategies; collaborate with teachers to develop and monitor individualized student support plans.
  • Provide coaching and professional development for staff on evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices.
  • Actively participate in the development, evaluation, improvement and appropriateness of the instructional program.
  • Implement and support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to foster a positive school climate; work with teachers and support staff to address student behavior concerns through restorative and proactive strategies; conduct student behavior meetings and collaborate with families to develop and monitor intervention plans.
  • Handle daily disciplinary and attendance issues, ensuring compliance with district and school policies.
  • Assist the principal in supervising school personnel and ensuring compliance with district policies.
  • Oversee activities and programs aligned with the school's curriculum.
  • Assist in the overall supervision of school facilities for both academic and non-academic purposes.
  • Maintain organized written reports, student referrals, and disciplinary documentation.
  • Participate in school leadership and data team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers in developing classroom management techniques.
  • Conduct behavioral management team meetings and develop documentation for school board hearings when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to support student achievement initiatives, assist in public relations efforts, including written and oral communications for school correspondence and news releases.
  • Serve as a liaison between staff, families, and district leadership regarding student achievement initiatives.
  • Support and promote the district's elementary school philosophy and programs.
  • Engage in professional growth through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and advanced coursework.
  • Serve on school and district committees as assigned by the principal.
  • Ensure compliance with Idaho Code and school policies regarding student conduct, including child abuse reporting and student safety concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and sensitive information.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, students, and families.
  • Support co-curricular activities as assigned by the principal.
  • Abide by the Code of Ethics for the Teaching Profession as established by the Idaho State Board of Education.
  • Attend faculty meetings, conferences, and professional development training.
  • Demonstrate strong punctuality, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Implement the mission, objectives, and strategic plan of the district.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
  • Principles and practices of instructional leadership, student achievement, and behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and social-emotional learning (SEL).
  • District and state policies regarding student discipline, attendance, and academic performance.
  • Principles and practices of school administration and supervision.
  • Effective data collection, analysis, and interpretation for instructional decision-making.
  • Principles of professional development and instructional coaching.
  • Strong written and verbal communication strategies for students, staff, and families.
  • Compliance with Idaho Code and school policies related to student conduct and safety.
Ability to:
  • Implement and oversee MTSS, PBIS, and other student support initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
  • Analyze student performance data and make informed decisions for academic and behavioral improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and district leadership.
  • Maintain organized documentation of student interventions, disciplinary actions, and compliance reports.

Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in childhood development, early education or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
  • Idaho Administrator Certificate with Principal Endorsement required or ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Must have a valid Idaho drivers license and a vehicle to drive and/or they must provide their own transportation for job related activities.
  • The job related travel during the day will be reimbursed at the approved state mileage reimbursement rate.
  • Strong understanding of MTSS, PBIS, social-emotional learning (SEL), and data-driven instruction desired.
  • Ability to observe, supervise, and manage student conduct and classroom activities throughout the instructional day.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand work-related materials and data.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Essential Physical Abilities
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
