In this role, you will be creating firmware for SEL's flagship revenue and power quality meters that play a critical role in SEL energy management solutions. You will have the ability to work with multi-functional teams and create innovative solutions that enhance the world's critical power infrastructure.

As a Senior Firmware Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

1. Lead the specification, architecture, design, implementation, and test of firmware/software systems.
2. Understand hardware and firmware interactions, and collaborate with Hardware Engineers.
3. Develop requirements, designs, tests, firmware, and documentation.
4. Lead and mentor Engineers and Technicians.
5. Serve as a technical contact for internal and external customers.
6. Attend industry technical meetings and conferences as needed.

This job might be for you if you:

1. Possess a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
2. Understand hardware, FPGA and firmware interactions, and collaborate with Hardware, RTL and Software Engineers.
3. Have 10+ years experience in one or more of the following areas:
1. Embedded systems firmware development
2. C, C++ and assembly
3. Object-oriented design
4. Object-oriented languages (C++, C#)
5. Scripting languages
6. RTL and FPGA
7. Digital communications and signal processing
8. 3-phase electric power systems
9. Digital and analog circuitry

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Senior Engineer with a salary range of $100,900.00 - $168,100. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
