Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction | Boise, ID

Are you a seasoned Senior Estimator looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact in commercial construction? A leading construction firm in Boise, Idaho is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead estimating efforts for a diverse range of commercial projects. This role requires expertise in cost estimation, value engineering, and risk assessment while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive business growth and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Evaluate project risks, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend value engineering solutions.
• Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, bid proposals, and cost analyses.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine scopes of work and construction methodologies.
• Support contract negotiations, procurement planning, and RFP responses.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to stay informed on pricing trends and market conditions.
• Assist with business development efforts by participating in client meetings, bid presentations, and proposal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven track record of stability and success in estimating commercial construction projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (projects ranging from $5M - $50M).
• Strong knowledge of design-build, negotiated, and competitive bid projects.
• Proficiency with Timberline, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or equivalent estimating software.
• Experience with cloud-based construction management platforms like Procore or PlanGrid (a plus).
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.

Working Conditions & Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
• Comfortable with extended periods of standing or sitting.
• Valid driver's license required.
