Essential Functions Performs journey-level electrical work on industrial and commercial machinery including: troubleshooting; conducting repairs; and installing and maintaining electrical systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), motor control cabinets, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generator backup systems, motors, panels, switchgear and related electrical components throughout wastewater facilities and other public works utilities.Performs maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment within the industrial wastewater treatment plant facilities and other utilities. Assists with preventive maintenance procedures on instrumentation equipment.Examines equipment to determine whether it requires repair or replacement. Assists in material and equipment selection for supply and inventory levels. Creates, updates and archives electrical prints and schematics. Participates in weekly safety meetings and training classes.Performs industrial, commercial and standard electrical installations, repairs and maintenance to other city-owned facilities and equipment outside public works utilities.Assists mechanics in maintaining and repairing wastewater valves, pumps and other process equipment and facilities.
