**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Women's Services - Labor and Delivery
**Job Duration:** 26 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights (7 PM - 7 AM), weekends as needed; Float to multiple sites in primary skill set or as a sitter
**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years (accepting 2 years with prior travel experience or 3 years without travel)
**License:** Required
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NRP, Stable
**Must-Have:**
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Mother-baby experience preferred (1 year)
- Experience attending deliveries and providing postpartum couplet care
- Experience with magnesium, triage, and circulating for C-sections
- Ability to stabilize and assess newborns within the first 2 hours
- Charge nurse experience preferred
**Job Description:**
- LDRP unit with 14 beds where patients stay in the same room
- Circulate and recover in 2 OR suites designated for C-sections
- Manage 4 triage beds
- Approximately 90 births per month, 1200 per year
- Follow AWHONN Staffing Standards for patient ratios
- Provide care for common diagnoses such as hypertension, gestational diabetes, TOLACs, and BACs
- Serve a diverse patient population, including those seeking medical intervention and pain control after home births
- RNs are required to titrate drips, including Pitocin, Magnesium, and occasionally Insulin
- The unit includes CNAs and surgical techs, with an embedded NICU in 7 of the LDRP rooms
- Tele and monitor tech capabilities available, but patients needing higher care levels will be transferred
- Utilize the Centricity EFM System and EPIC charting system
- Orientation includes 4 shifts with exposure to C-sections, labor, and postpartum care
- Hospital-issued scrubs are required, with a no fingernail lacquer policy in place
