Job Summary: Assists in operation of the Cafeteria Program

Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties and responsiblities listed below. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures. A person, who under the supervision of the kitchen manager, performs the various tasks necessary to prepare, serve and clean up after the school food service meals. High school diploma/GED. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Must have own transportation and be able to read and follow instructions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in preparation and serving food in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Produces quality food products and follows standardized recipes closely
• Operates a variety of equipment, including grinder, mixer, oven, range, dishwasher, steam kettle, slicer, etc.
• When tasks are completed checks with manager and others for instruction to help others. Team players are essential in all successful operations.
• Assist in general daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.
• Assists in major cleaning or refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as requested.
• Attends relevant training classes and workshops in order to maintain food service knowledge
• Assists with the proper storage and disposal of unused foods.
• Deals with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive encouraging manner.
• Knows and follows school policy and chain of command.
• Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
• Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
