The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking a Customer Service Representative 1. This position will be located at our Southwest Regional Office located in Nampa, ID. This is a year-round benefited temporary position and is expected to work up to 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
+ Provide customer service via phone or in person with both external customers and internal staff members.
+ Decipher department regulations to assist customers with their hunting, fishing, and trapping questions.
+ Will need to be able to physically handle dead animals.
+ Perform a wide range of office support functions using independent judgment in applying existing policies, rules, legislation, and procedures to complete assignments.
+ Respond to non-routine inquiries and explain department services, policies, procedures, and rationale for decisions to customers.
+ Utilize a variety of computer operations to complete daily assignments.
+ Perform office duties such as financial record keeping, composing correspondence - creating, reviewing, and processing documents and records.
+ Issuing items based on walk in customers and mailed in request.
+ Auditing returned documents, electronically indexing, and filing documents.
+ Identifying and correcting errors and omissions on documents received from staff, departments and/or public.
+ Maintaining records.
Minimum Qualifications: (These qualifications are required.)
+ Experience answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette. (Typically gained by six months of full-time experience providing direct customer service on the telephone or in person. "Customer service" in this case means that you would have spent more than 50% of your time in a job actively listening to, being attentive to, answering questions from, providing options to, fulfilling services for, solving problems for, and/or resolving complaints from multiple customers. Typically, general reception duties are non-qualifying for this position.)
+ Experience explaining policies, procedures, or rules. (Typically gained by six months of full-time experience in a work setting explaining routine policies, procedures, or rules that are clearly defined to customers.)
+ Experience independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting. (Typically gained by six months of full-time experience in a business setting where handling upset or angry customers. If the employee could not calm down a customer, the employee would then refer the customer to a supervisor or manager for further assistance. Experience in a retail environment would qualify.)
+ Experience reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness. (Typically gained by six months of full-time experience in a work setting reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness.)
+ Experience accessing data using a computerized records system. (Typically gained by six months of full-time experience accessing data using personal computer software such as Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
This position requires the following:
+ Experience questioning customers to obtain detailed information in a business setting.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
The ideal candidatemust be willing to assist customers with issues such as road kills, injured or orphaned animals, depredation problems, live traps, and pest advice; as well as a willingness to handle harvested animals. Have a strong interest in serving the mission of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and will have knowledge and an appreciation for hunting, fishing, and trapping activities.
