Description
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Development Coordinator is responsible to provide project support of new construction, acquisition/preservation, and dislocation activities as required by the Development Team. Performs advanced administrative information management and project coordination functions, dislocation management and research assistance to the Development Team for due diligence, acquisition, financing, construction, and preservation of multifamily housing projects. The Development Coordinator also identifies and, under direction, applies for appropriate grant funding. Reports to the Development Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists Development Team Members in the preparation and submittal of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and other funding application packages.
- Provides support to the Development Team throughout the acquisition/construction finance closing process and the rehabilitation process, including attending business partner and construction meetings, drafting meeting minutes, coordinating documentation, monitoring critical dates, following up with internal and external business partners to ensure timelines are met, and preparing reports.
- Manages all aspects of the resident dislocation process during rehabilitation including budgeting and forecasting, research, and negotiation with area hotels for temporary housing of residents.
- Provides dislocation training to Resident Managers.
- Manages and coordinates dislocation move schedules in conjunction with rehab schedules, Resident Managers, and residents.
- Ensures compliance with Federal and HUD/RD Regulatory Requirements.
- Ensures accurate and organized document retention for all Department electronic and paper files.
- Provides administrative and research support as required.
- Submits timely and accurate applications and reports.
- Completes timely and accurate acquisition/finance closing, rehabilitation, dislocation.
- Other projects as required.
Requirements
COMPETENCIES - Experience reviewing title documents; has a good understanding of real estate legal terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel, (Yardi experience a bonus).
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to successfully meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple, concurrent projects.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong financial and analytical thinking skills (Job Cost experience very helpful but not required).
- Work in a collaborative manner, as a member of a project or team.
- Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES WORK ENVIRONMENT - Office environment; hybrid remote / telecommuting available after 90 days of employment. Offers flexible schedule working four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days after 90 days of employment.
TRAVEL REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience in paralegal studies, finance, affordable housing, construction, real estate and/or business management
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in related field

- Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, 10-key calculator, monitors, scanner, phone, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment.
