VISTA Reentry Operation Specialist at St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Our Southwest Idaho Council, located in beautiful Boise, Idaho, works to build a sustainable improved standard of living for vulnerable members in our community through our thrift stores, food pantries, and reentry programs. Our Reentry Career Development program provides comprehensive employment support to currently and formerly incarcerated individuals. We're seeking a dedicated VISTA Reentry Operation Specialist to enhance our team's capacity by streamlining processes and creating systems to empower justice-involved individuals. As a VISTA with SVdP, you'll join our warm, caring, and inclusive family. You'll build your professional network by working alongside SVdP leadership, community partners, and collaborate with experienced professionals in the employment sector. In addition to this, the position offers incredible firsthand experience working with individuals who have lived experience in the justice system, as well as opportunities to interact with the Idaho Department of Correction, providing a comprehensive view of the reentry process. The ideal candidate is passionate about serving vulnerable populations, has experience in developing policies and procedures, possesses strong writing and communication skills, and technical proficiency. Member Duties : The VISTA member will play a crucial role in enhancing St. Vincent de Paul's Reentry Career Development Team capacity and improving services for justice-involved individuals. Working closely with the team, the VISTA will identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions. Key responsibilities include developing resources and training materials, streamlining service delivery systems, and designing an employer outreach initiative to cultivate partnerships for second-chance employment opportunities. The VISTA will also establish a centralized knowledge repository to ensure continuity of services and compile data for grant applications.
